Private Plays are immersive performances where the audience read illustrated theatre scripts in installation spaces. The scripts are presented as Zines. The scripts are developed to be read in the installations and the illustrations spark the readers imagination. It’s site specific theatre without performers and mood lighting, obtrusive music and uncomfortable stimuli. Private Plays open up storytelling to a new audience. The installations feature artwork, projected animation, illustrations and puppetry.
The play scripts and zines are created for all to enjoy regardless of the readers background. All that is needed is the ability to read and have some imagination. Private Plays appear at events, festivals and exhibitions. You can purchase our zines at our online Zine Shop.

Letters We Leave Behind

Ten Little Memories is an installation performance from Do It Theatre. The first performance occurred at the BasicSpace Festival in site -sensitive theatre festival in Peckham, London

Delay
Delay is a story about waiting. It is love story where a person is waiting in a bar for their partner to arrive. It attempts to capture the moment in a relationship when you can’t decide if putting the effort in is worth it. I think it is a universal theme and an interesting one to explore in the Private Plays format. The story is from the perspective of a same sex couple, but the subject matter could apply to anyone. It is a performance presented in a Zine.
